Just a little something to share with you guys I got off from 'TodayOnline.Com'

New Brand Singapore
Survey points to a hipper image, but those here ask: 'Really?'

"Sceptical Singaporeans themselves may be surprised, but according to a survey of 1,500 jet-setting tourists and industry experts worldwide, the Republic has aggressively reinvented its image in the course of a single year.

Safe? Of course. Good place for doing business? We knew that. But Singapore now ranks second in the world even for the quality of its nightlife and dining — with only Italy ahead of it in that category — according to the survey released in several capitals across the world yesterday."

"Singapore's efforts in defining and promoting its destination brand are bearing fruit," said Mr Dominic Mason from international brand consultant FutureBrand, which organised the survey along with public relations firm Weber Shandwick and helped promote the "Uniquely Singapore" branding.

"Singaporeans themselves were not easily convinced of their country's freshly-minted appeal."

HUH?? What Singapore? top 2 nightlife and dinning experience in the world??
hmmm then why Im always left with no where to go after dusk? Except to work.
TRue True.. I might not have explored all the places.. But Im here for the whole of my 19 years! and surely the other countries have more to offer?

So Actually I try to convince myself that it could be possible because:
- Survey was done @ Clarke quay/Boat Quay/MoMo/Butter FActory/Zouk/M.O.S/All other pubs.

- Person who did the survey had mostly drank Whisky and Wines and answered in such 'Sober' state of the minds... *read my sarcastic words in between...*

- 90% of the tourist they surveyed @ the so called 'Popular night spots' had only been here ONCE. *Once is Fun, twice is enjoyable..Third is ermmm......Fourth is zzzzZzz....*

Maybe they should RE-Look at the surveys? Did Singapore pay them to do the survey or what?

Next,

MM named an 'Asian hero' by Time
"Lee Kuan Yew picked as one of magazine's 60 heroes who transformed the region..."
"Mr Lee, 83, was named alongside 12 other "nation builders" on a list that includes China's Deng Xiaoping, India's Mahatma Gandhi, World War II hero General Douglas MacArthur and Myanmar's pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi. "

This, I tend to agree, I am no Hard Core PAP Supporter, But you cannot denied the truth about Singapore Independence because of him
*although he was also the guy responsible for the Malaysian merger..... lets not touch on history stories....*

Without MM Lee, we might still be living off Malaysia's palm oil trees instead of Creative Technological sound blasters.
Each has his own trade, not saying that Palm Trees are less worth to be proud off, But, We, have established a TOP 2 Night Life Blah blah blah status didn't we?

But anyhows, I guess... Congrats......Singapore.

For making it to the TOP 10 BEST NIGHT LIFE AND DINNING in the world.

Better check which company did the survey again......

.:AngeL+DeViL blogged on 9:22 AM:.

Nice bright white roof tops and lightings used to make the place look wider and cleaner
see? very neat and organised though its only temporary i heard..they will move back to a air con one soon.. wah... pampered world in future where there is air con comfort where ever you go.
Sabrina, a colleague in PSB and another staff in the WEST one, came back from korea and bought me this lovely pen =] thanks=]
See got card some more... i'll miss them when i leave PSB...
Faizal drew this.. i find it very heart warming thought it is not any picaso art.

Work was, unusually relaxing.

Or should I say, I have got used to life in MCYS and ...
I am leaving MCYS and there is nothing for me to worry about anymore.
Or so I thought.

Talked to many people today,
Went to Sports division and learnt about the sports development in singapore, the policies and the future directions and the 'ugly' politics of sports.
Well, it didn shocked me actually.
I kind of expected it to be THAT 'ugly' .

Had lunch with the director himself,
Nothing fancy, but the fact that he is a down to earth type of heart lander and he is the DIRECTOR of SPORTS DIVISION, meaning all sports policies are passed down from him,
I was honoured to have lunch with him.

He taught me about humanity. Being humble regardless of status.

Went back to PSB and chatted with the staff again =]
These days we chatted more and it made me feel even sadder to leave this office.

After 6pm, went to wine hut.
Work was tiring, as in, customer kept coming in one by one group.
And today's crowd were the fussy sort, many food, many requests and many orders.
oh well, im soon to it.

But i was stonning.
Even Frank said I look 'blur blur' one.
I am.
Too tired to smile, too tired to think, I was like a robot on auto mode.

Went back early cox boss was tired also.
Managed to catch the last '99' bus and I didn't realised that the CLementi bus interchange had shifted.
Had to walk a little longer than usual
But what caught my eye was the design of the new interchange.

Singaporeans are really lucky people.
Even the bus interchange looks like an air port departure hall...(**refer to pics above)
I was quite impressed,
Although its new, so its grand and all,
but the fact that effort was made to construct it so beautifully done,
im very amazed... but..

"PAP...Can start renovating my countryside neighbourhood not??? I don't ask for much, design similar to raffles hotel can liao..."

*melody sound* "Refreshment is here.."
It was tea time,
I didn intend to get anything.
But just wanted to walk outside,
away from my desk and get some fresh air.

Than I met The China friend again.
This China Friend came about the same period when I first came to MCYS.
I was at the Human resource department and we were waiting for the lift.

Hee hee being such a key poh and curious as i am,
we chatted and i knew he wasnt local.
He is from China and came to Singapore to work.
He's working @ one of the staff canteen as kitchen assisant.

So today, saw him again and we spoke for a longer time since there was nobody buying anything from his tray. *the food wasnt that fantastic... so ya..

Anyways, I found out from him that He doesnt have a DAY OFF, works from 5AM til 530pm, 7 days in a week. stays at his boss place and he has to pay $9000 SGD to come here, exclusive of his food and lodging. His boss still deduct $100 per month for lodging. It may seem cheap enough, but he worked everyday non stop, and already paid $9000 before he came!!

My god...So hE'S working for 'free' basically, must pay this pay that.. leaving him a little to call back home.....

Typical you may ask, maids are also like tat.. but i was still shocked and a bit sympathetic...
Why must he work everyday? I mean, at least maid get to rest @ home, or now the law is you either give a day off to your maids or pay her extra $25 per day.
See? at least even maids get paid if they dont have day off...

My china friend here? doesnt even get paid and still in debt. He told me : *in chinese "Aiya foreign workers like us is like that one lah.." *Amazed that i can communicate with him right? Come on, My 'Chi-Na' not that lousy lor..

I mean come on, foreign workers are also humans, put that international status aside, EVERYONE needs a break, Im having IPP 5 days a week and im already complaining like hell... Im starting to feel guilty already...

But he's got a two year contract , so after that, he gets his PR and he can either stick to his job, or find a better one.
My China Friend is a Chef back in SHANGDONG, CHINA, nice place =]
But he's just a assistance now, here in Singapore frying some mixed dough food...* talk about a waste of talents..*

I feel its a waste.. I mean his guy is just trying to earn more to give his wife and son a better life back in China wat...

we talked about other things and I went to the reception desk , took a pen and paper and gave him my number..wrote my Chinese name *gosh.. i very long never write my chinese name liao.. it looks very wierd.. a bit out. heehee*

He was surprised, he didn asked but i gave him.
Why?
I told him after his two year contract, if he's still in Singapore, and If he wants to learn English, Can drop me a line, I'll teach him whenever I can.
He said he cant afford.
I said, " Who's saying anything about paying? Im helping you as a friend .. you will get a beter job if you are able to speak some English..if not, you'll find a job and they cheat your money for some lousy En-ga-rish lessons taught by fellow workers then how? "
"Btw, my name is 'Lu Chi Hui' .."

when I went back, the receptionist asked why I gave him my number? He could be a bad person for all I know, and Im a girl...

I just said: "He's my friend =] *smiles"

Truth is, Im only giving him my number, Not my address or anything, nor are we going on a date or anything. I choose to trust somebody I believe its worthy of my trust until its proven otherwise. I would rather think he can get a better job and his family will live better and he maybe a Chef here if he's successful than to ponder about whether is he bluffing me, trying to cheat my money and stuff...*i got better things to do than to occupy my mind with negatives thoughts*

I mean come on, I'm considered an adult, if he calls me at suspicious hours @ funny places than obviously I wun go rite? Or if Its urgent than get a male friend along or sth. For all you know, He might really be in deep trouble and he's alone, Who's going to help him ?

Point is, Foreign workers came here not to be labourers, they came to support their family back in their home town just like your parents working their hearts out for the family...

My mum, She working hers out, and I thank her for reminding me how my life will not be what it is today without her...Thanks mum =]

I work every time, because I need to support myself as much as I can, and lift some load off her heavy burden, thought minimal, I cannot bear to let her carry all...

Anways, be nice =] love the world, love yourself, spread the love =]

And my China Friend, his name is Guo Lin Heng, write it in my blog in case i forget his name when he calls..

Will be looking forward to another great Chef in the making =]... I told him I'll be looking forward to his chinese shangdong crusine in Singapore, he walked away, with a smile on his face got that *Really meh? I can be a Chef here meh? *

Why not? ...

Online Business Is blossoming !!

Food, Fashion, Books, electronic Gadgets and even events management..
all set up by entrepreneurs setting out on their own and either part time or full time and its much more easier than to have your own store.

I admire their determination, and creativity and envy their courage.
its like a war, they are out there on their own, fighting to convice others of their dreams and passion.

I found some very interesting ones that I wanna share in my blog

First "She Bakes and She Cooks" http://www.thebakerwhocooks.blogspot.com/
She's a young baker who whips out a mean chocolate that goes easy on the calories and she recommends good snacks and food found in the supermarkets =] I find her blog very interactive and informative and I would not be surprise if she moves on to become Singapore's greatest baker baking the best pasteries for the people. And, she's also a fan of Miss Clarity Cafe, My fav spot around !

NExt, "Slizes" http://www.slizes.blogspot.com/
This online bakery sells those chocolates fudge cakes that are not too dry and moist on the inside with melting chocolate inside your mouth. actually i didn tried it before, but to be honest i can imagine a lot from the pictures.. i know pic maybe deciving, but hey, its a home made business, they are not out to cheat your money. think they so free ar?? heehee She bakes every order fresh and I find the Assorted cakes VERy tempting! stop buying PRima Deli, Bangawan and Polar or Sweet SEcrets lah.. This wonderful baker here use home made healthy ingredients in her delightful home made cakes and that too nice to be eaten. =]

Next, I think I will STRONGLY recommend this for the lazy souls in you to buy food when there is nothing to eat at home. Or you are craving for that geylang 'tau huey with you tiao' or East Coast 'Chilli Crab' or Chinatown 'Ah Balling' hmmm.. ladies and gentlemen, friends and fellow lazy bums, I;ve found the perfect solution: "DABAO.SG" http://www.dabao.sg/index.html

The 50s, 60s and 70s accessories are all spread out ready for bargaining..

the stall owners chit chat among themselves, under their sailor cap and 1960s glasses...
I must say, I was a bit lost.
Lost as in don't know where to start , don't know what to see...
My jaw just drop lor.

Went from the friendly / or not so friendly ah peks 'corner' @ bugis near-by , to chinatown's up market air con comfort shopping.

Its one of those weekends, i feel have been very nicely and worthy spent =]

But.. the colour, yesh dun be shock....its pink..
Dun know why i pick that colour too, but hey, its sth different
And i swear im going to get another blue one next time..

anyways, its @ a booth @ CSC and the two young chap there mending the booth are very ncie and friendly ppl to chat with =]
their tee shirts i feel, are unique and VERY eye catching. Cute also =]
Its shows the soft and gentlemen side of men.
So im recommendating all gentlemen and ladies to patronise the online shopping blog
www.houseoftees.blogspot.com

The service is fantastic =]
give it a 8 out of 10 !!
The tee shirt is nicely folded and cover in hard plastic, with another clear plastic bag to carry with.
Very unique way of presentation.
See? they provide good service up to the plastic bags that ppl usually don't bother much.
Thats why its worth my 8 points thumbs up =]

Was looking at the topics at a forum and the stuffs that youths like to talk about.
Then, I chance upon this topic called : "Religion or Love?"
............

Both sensitive and no-answer topic that I found very interesting to see what youths think about it.

Apparently, after reading through it, Im going to give my two cents worth of my own opinion in my blog....

"Religion is SENSITIVE and Love is UNDEFINED ...."

Religion, is what everyone talks about it, avoid it, run away from it, choose it, believe it, live it.
BUT, so does love.

Conflict between these two issues has torn countless hearts ,
Girlfriends, Boyfriends split up because one chooses religion over love , or love over religion.

Stories like peer pressure from the same religion to split up with a non-believer are common.
Religion and love is suppose to be a happy ending for all, but it seems it has created a sad beginning for some.

Really, Nobody has an answer to this issue.
Too bad god didn't created Albert Einstein with Love quotations brain cells,
* Albert Einstein invented most of the math and physics formulas that you memorised in your brain.*
If not, maybe we could work out a formula for it and solve the problems...

but if you ask me,
Religion and Love are like 'innocent parties convicted in Human court, guilty of breaking the hearts of mankind with their misinterpretated collaboration"

Which means, religion and love cannot force anybody, it has no power to control any human being.
My best explanation is that humans cannot set their thoughts straight and work things out in a 'Diplomatic' manner, meaning finding a solution that is best accepted by both parties.
Maybe PAP should give a workshop on this, they are best at DIPLOMATIC matters, just look at what singapore and her singaporeans turns out to be... well.. most of them...

Anyways, there is always a choice.
No one is left choice-LESS.
In my opinion , you don't have to leave your boy/girl friend cum, husband/wife-to-be if you could just accept each other as who he/she is.

It maybe from diff religion, race, beliefs, but I always believe in fate.
When chemistry blossoms, it is a undeniable fact.
Whether it carries on or not, is a story both lovebirds must work to seek an answer for.
But the answer MUST come from the hearts of both, and not third parties who does not make up your relationship.

I don't mean defiance against family or friends or cell group members,
But in relationships, the rationale approach in my opinion is to ask yourself and ask your partner before you ask somebody else.

So far, What I have said may by a bit too literature and unconnecting to you,
So I am going to give you a example **EXAMPLE only haR ... if such a situation happens to be, and what I think I will do...:

I am a freethinker-cum-family bonded buddist.
Not that I don't believe in God, but I was born in a evironment that has no strictions to religion and as a result, I don't really belong to anywhere except to silently believe there is a power above me. But clueless as to which side I should go because I always think its the same,
but he is given diff NAMEs by human beings.
I always think that 'GOD is the same, the CULTURE is not' ,
which manipulated to be different religion with different gods
but thinking it this way makes it sound like some product that you are selling.

In marketing terms, the need is God.
Marketing target audience is human beings.
Differentiated marketing strategy is used.
The product line strategy is the different races; chinese, malay, indian etc.
The product line extention could be Buddist, Taosim, Chirstians,Catholic etc.
Then, due to fast rapid acceptance of the market, and to 'differentiate' themselves, They practice customisation to suit the product better for the audience.
So, Like Chirstians, there is many different churches, buddist there is many different temples, each with its own unique way of using the product to suit their beliefs.... Some are modern beliefs, some are traditional beliefs, some, a mix of both...

So you see?.. you get the picture..
I don't intend to offend any religion here, I respect all religion and all humans have the freedom to choose their belief status, just like I have the freedom of speech, I have to 'speak' up my true thoughts.........
Right.. back to the religion love management topic..

So if I am dating somebody,
religion really does not come in at this moment, although its worth to keep in some consideration.
Because dating is more like, still exploring personality and finding a companion who will create blissful stories for you .. of couse, *intensive physical contact does not contribute to such blissfulness -R(A) rated kind..
I have to be crude, but yeah I am the conservative kind ma.. lolx

then, if both are truely in love and marriage is much closer to reality, than religion comes into play.
I will consider if he is really the one for me? Is he my husband, the one who will be with me 'til death do us apart' sort of guy?

When deciding which path is better, both should perhaps, just like a business proposal,
Ojective: " Find out who's religion should be incorporated into their life."
Methodology : "Sincere, true open discussion from both parties using mutual understanding."
Research: "Done during the dating period"
Results: "show results from the dating period"
Discussion: " Should take into consideration who is the better willing party, if both are unwilling, can they accept both beliefs? "
Limitations: "Possible breakups, quarrels"
Conclusion: "Either religion accepted or not accepted"
Future Direction: "Accept, Then marry and live happily ever after, NO accept, then seriously wish each other happily ever after finding their other soul mate"

see? its all about choices and what each other wants.
I will want to accept my boyfriend's/husband choice, but provided he accepts mine.
Forget about the whole 'if he loves me, he should accept whatever I am...' This is extreme part of acceptance which, I cannot go along with, Its not sacrifice on his.her part, its selfish actsof love on your part. How can you force some one you love, to do something he/she is being forced to do... and not a single day he/she is happy with you?

But i know complications still arises because, LOVE as i mention is undefined. there is no Answer to it.
There are people who think too much during the dating period, because they think too fast into marriage. I must admit , I too, may think too much somtimes.
But no matter what, I don't rush relationships, its not a RACe race, and I am open to choices, however i am not promiscious, there should be at least a 'Husband factor' in your dating partner ba ...

Right, so my opinion? Religion and love , you must decide youself which means more important and has a stronger faith, there is nothing wrong in choosing either or, but never let third parties decide on your life. They don;t walk into your life, only god can and he created you to follow your heart... but which ever you chose, if you chose religion, then don't close your book on love in future, if you chose love then close your book on religion.
Time never stops. Because God never gives up on you no matter what choices you make. Same for Love. Love never gives up on you no matter what beliefs you have.

Let love embrace you and let religion come to you, it will eventually.

Meantime, enjoy time spent with love ones.

you have graduated from 'the religion and love relationship management'

congrats.

you will live happily ever after.

And ya , hope Janice will get back her wallet soon lor ...
Toopid ppl who took her wallet.. haha

Den, went to meet dou dou @ WHATEVER cafe..sleazy place..heehee kiddin..
while waiting for closing, I get to know this Intuitive healer and counselor.

She's can kinda predict ur future, and heal all problems you have in life.
I learnt from her about healing and to have positive thinking in life...
She enlightened me a bit and i felt better =]
She charge around $100 per hr know.. and I talk to her for almost an hour for free.. heehee Talk is cheap. How nice.

Have more positive thoughts and believe in the steps that im taking.
Her name is Clara too. Concidence ? or Fated? hmmmm.
I rather believe its fated, so it forges a special relationship you are fated to meet =]

She ask me if i have any problems...
I thought for quite some time..
I don't really know where to begin cox, I've been thru many rough times ya know

So I told her I don't know what is my goal in life, or what I want to do in future..
She didn directly asnwer my question, but she said:
"I see You changing jobs..." *whoa..wat a 'great' start..
There is many meaning to it..It could mean I might not stay in the sport and wellness industry or, I will change jobs within the industry...hmmm

"And You will travel very often, You will not stay in Singapore for long.."
WAh!! this, i Like =)
I like travelling and I never mention it to her during the conversation before!
Discovery Travel and Living is my fav SCV channel other than MTV =]
She said I will travel around but there is five countries which I will definately go
: Indonesia, China , India and Europe .I cant remb the fifth one though..

hmmm
quite true, I always think that Asia countires have more that what I am exposed on TV.

And Yesh, I mentioned before to a wine hut customer that I am interested to visit the European countries and see a different world.

Oh well..She said one more thing.. Which I will choose not to mention here because its...erm... well. lets just say its NOT career, family or academics based.. so that leaves with only a FEW areas she could touched on...

Its interesting to know such things, about ur future, and I will be very keen to see if its true, But I have my limits. Obsession is definately a no no and I will still make my own desicion and we shall see.. in a few years time, whether What i've written here.. comes true or not....
